Myopia can be controlled...
Guardian developed a new high-tech, kid-friendly method to control your child's myopia with a spectacle lens.
Myopia is progressive and calls for a specialized spectacle (eyeglass) lens to correct distance vision and control the progressive vision deterioration that comes along with it. The Guardian Digital Control System contains a powerful series of prescription eyeglass lenses that are able to correct myopia and control the rate of it's progression. Our
lenses are only prescribed for ages 5 through 18, and the child's starting age will determine the lens design they are prescribed.
KidSight, VisionMate, and FocusPro lenses with
Comfort CORE technology are designed to exploit the
principle of peripheral myopic defocus, the leading theoretical model world-wide for slowing down myopia progression in children.
Comfort CORE Technology is an advanced lens design computation used to create two unique and distinct treatment zones that compensate for the eyeball elongation stimulus associated with myopia progression.
Comfort CORE Technology Features
Our lenses use well-known and proprietary digital processing optimization algorithms to establish three unique and purposeful optical zones (detailed below) to correct and control myopia in children. Comfort CORE technology is implemented within two distinct "treatment" zones using concentric rings of individual "pixels" with an age-appropriate defocused power. Both treatment zones follow a balanced and symmetrical power law that is equal on all meridians. The defocus “pixels” within the treatment zones are carefully calculated to schematize a precise, digitally controlled power digression and slow cylinder increase from the optical center to the edges of the lens.
